If they are older than 2 years or not specific running shoes its most likely their fault. However, you should expect some soreness even with good shoes.<br /><br />Third - as exciting as it is to push yourself, if you go too hard too fast you will get hurt and have to take time off - which will most likely kill your momentum. Don't up your goals until you are comfortable and pain free (for the most part anyway).
